This year the show "Glee" debuted on the ABC network. It became one of the hottest shows on televison in a very short amount of time. The first time that I had heard about the show, I just laughed because I didnt think that anyone would want to watch a show about a club that sings and dances for their entire 1 hour time slot. It turns out that it became very popular and I believe that this is because it was just really different from all the other things that were on the network and were on for the 2009 season. I think that this is a good thing to focus on for being "hot" in the past year because it goes to show just how some of the most different, off the wall things can make it big, just for being something new that can appeal to a wide spread audience.
ReplyDeleteAs for a breakout product in the 2010 year, I would say that the New Oreleans Saints will become what's hot in the sports, as well as the entertainment world. When they won the superbowl, they won from an underdog stand point and everyone knows that the American public always backs up the underdog. I think that the win will not only atract attention for the team and the NFL network but also the city of New Orleans itself.
In 2009, a very popular product related to sports and entertainment were the Michael Jordan and Charlie Sheen Hane's commercials. Throughout the year Hane's put out multiple advertisements using the sports icon and the actor. These commercials were funny and attention grabbing because of the stars that were in them. Despite Michael Jordan having not played basketball in many years, people still recognize him, which made the commercial effective.

With the launch of his new shoe line, Kobe is putting himself in the same category with other basketball players like Michael Jordan, Tracey McGrady, and Allen Iverson who all have had their own shoes. If Kobe is succesful, his shoes will be too.

In the year of 2009, there was a breakthrough for the Black Eyes Peas, who released there latest album Energy Never Dies, and a majority of their songs hit the billboard top 10 and 100 on numerous occassions. with a combination of new artists and returning artists, The Black Eyed Peas still managed to triumph and come through with hits after hit. I believe they were popular due to their new way of delivering sound. They marketing their viewers along with what was hot, and managed to combine the two inexpliacbly and create a new sound which the general audience took to their liking.
ReplyDeleteI think the hottest product for 2010 is Dominoe's reinvented pizza. There had been reviews and critque about Dominoe's pizza for a while, and so Dominoe's played from a marketing and business perspective and they reinvented their pizza. It has become a big hit since then and possibly for years to come. I decided to choose this product other then technology or what not, is becasue its food. Food hardly gets attention more or less for a new product for it, so now due to our economic downfall, food is seen as a commodity. With Dominoe's usual cheap prices, and now a better tasting pizza, critics will praise as they have for the rest of the year, up until rival pizza corporations up their game.
A singer that I think was popular during 2009 was Lil' Wayne. Lil' Wayne has been around since he was very young but he became very popular in 2009. I chose this product or service because I heard his songs and people listening to his music EVERYWHERE. I think he became so popular because people liked the 'swag' he had and his music was so likable. Also, if you were a person that liked the hits of 2009, Lil' Wayne definately fit that category.
ReplyDeleteIn 2010 I think that the show 16 & Pregnant will make it's break-through. They had a show last year which people were unsure of at first but now that they are bringing it back everyone knows what it's all about. Everyone also likes watching the life of someone that isn't ordinary, someone unlike the average high school student. It is such an interesting show because you see and can relate to much of the stuff they are going through.

In 2009, a singer that was hot before his unfortunate death was one of pop's greatest artists, Michael Jackson. His ticket sales for his last concert "This Is It" were sky rocketing and record breaking. After his unexpected death his cd sales increased tremendously and were selling at a record beating rate. Also, they created a movie called "This Is It" which did very in theaters. I selected to talk about Michael Jackson because he was an in fluential person and was an artist that had popularity all around the world. Even through all of ohis court trials and other hurdles he still manage to have a huge fan base which truly illustrates how much of an impact he had on the world and in the music industry.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the New Orlean Saints team merchandise and ticket sales are going to increase tremendously since they just won the Super Bowl. Many people like the idea of how the Saints were looked at as being the "underdog" before going into the game and then defying the odds by winning. Reggie Bush's jersey sales are most likely to increase as well because he is one of the more well known Saints players. I feel that that New Orlean Saints merchandise will increase because this has happened in the NBA for example, when LeBron was drafted in the NBA his jersey sales have been progressively increasing and also Laker jerseys have increased as well since they are the reigning champions in the NBA. All in all, I feel that any new champion team will be the one that is "hot" in 2010.
Gucci Mane was one of the hotest rappers of 2009. In 2009 Gucci Mane created several mixtapes since his release from jail in the spring of 09. His first mixtape Writing on the Wall was a street banger. He lauched his album "State vs. Radic Davis" in december of 2009. And was the ranked first on the billboards top rap albums.

The knicks are making trades now to make room for salary cap in order to get 2 max out players. Which means they can get Lebron James and anyother player. Like a Dwanye Wade or a Chris Bosh. Making them an automatic threst in the east.

I think that Lady Gaga had a huge impact on the entertainment industry in 2009. I believe that Lady Gaga's singing career has launched so rapidly over the course of 2009. She became an idol of many teens, children, and even young adults. I personally believe that the lyrics she uses in her songs are profound and should be censored at times, however, by not censoring the lyrics, it makes the songs much more meaningful and even more hilarious. i think that Lady Gaga was popular because the songs she chose to record could show a relation to peoples everydays lives, and thats why people could relate to her.
ReplyDeleteIn 2010, i believe that Lady Gaga would start her own clothing design. The reason why i believe so, is because even though she is so unique, she eventually has nothing left but music. So i strongly believe that for Lady Gaga to stronger her career, she would have to get inspration by other entertainers. Like many others, they have developed their own clthing-line, so why should Lady Gaga be any different? i believe that she would make her career an even higher rating if she were to produce much more other than songs. i know personally that i would definitly buy clothes and accesories from her if she were to ever produce any.

What I think was hot in 2009 was the Cleveland Show. It was hot because Cleveland was funny on family guy and now for him to have his own show is cool. The show is just like family guy but jus better and funnier. It's funnier because of the different characters in the show. Everybody that I know watches the Cleveland Show.

It also has the internet and you can put songs on it. The battery last longer and it is waterproof. It has a high rating and it plays any games.

Nike soccer is one of the most popular product lines in the world. Although soccer is not very popular in the United States as it is in the rest of the world, it still sells alot of products. Nike soccer cleats come out every 6 months on average. I selected this because soccer is played everywhere around the world. I chose this because i play soccer and the product interest me.

In 2009 the best sports product that was Underarmour. Underarmour was very popular to all sports because thier designs and clothing texture differs from many companies out their. Underarmour has heatgear, coldgear, and regular gear. They have clothing for every athletic event and their always comfortable and afforadable. Underarmour in my opinion is the most used sports gear clothing line in the USA. Also underarmour started to make footballs,basketballs, and soccer balls. Over the years gatorade has been the top sports drink out their, it beats powerade and vitamin water out the window easy. Gatorade also has so many endorsements with all the best atheltes in the world. I know Gatorade isn't something new but i think its going to have its best year this year in its product.

Last year and a little in the beginning of this year the movie Avatar became the highest grossing movie ever. It passed Titanic and when the movie comes out for sale it is going to make a ton of money. The movie was directed by James Cameron who also directed Titanic and he now has the two highest grossing movies ever. I chose Avatar because it made substancially more money than any other movoie ever has. It was mostly popular because the visual effects were amazing and the actors and director had early name recognition.

His fame is growing very quickly and I would expect to see him in a lot more commercials this year especially if he does the Pacqiau fight. In just that single fight he could make over five million dollars.

One product that was "hpt" in 2009 was Call of Duty Mw2, becasue it was the sequel to Call of Duty Modern warfare. Also they havent mad a call of duty for two years before this game was released, so everyone was very excited when it came out. Also it was said to have better graphics then C.O.D. Modern warfare, so alot of people were waiting for that too.

So Call of duty modern warfare was hot in 2009, and MAG will be hot in 2010.

In 2009 a big product that was hit was the novels and movie on Twilight. It reached many viewers, whether they had read the book or not. Everyone was talking about it when it first came out and many were beginning to just read the books because of it. There were many who were of older age who even went out to see it; people you wouldn't have expected to watch it but did. It got around mostly through people who have read the book, but quickly spread once the movie came out. I selected this product because it was one of the major things I remember hearing about from a lot of my friends (word of mouth).

Means of transportation like the SmartCar but with other car companies will most likely start to gain more recognition because of all the environmental cautions that are starting to rise along with the years. There have begun to be more commercials and ads on eco-friendly cars that I've seen lately than in the past and I believe it's starting to grow. There's a possibility that it will start to grow even more in 2010.
Many things happened in 2009, good, bad, and ugly. One of the most shocking things was the death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, who was just days away from kicking off his 'This is It' tour. You might be wondering why mentioning Michael Jackson is relevant, but I believe that due to the 'This is It' tour and then his untimely death, it revived his hotness. Due to all the publicity and products produced post death, it made him 'hot' in 2009.

The new Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo jersey. Ronaldo was Fifa Player of the Year in 2008. He has a lot of prestige because he is a great player. When he transferred from Manchester United to Real Madrid, there was a lot of commotion in the public. It was a rumor for months, but when it finally happened, most were shocked.

If it doesn't have critical bugs, and works efficiently, consumers will be more integrated into current events, television, sports, the stock market, and many other every day life things. I feel like the Saints were the hottest thing in 09. They were the best team in football and everyone got behind them when they were making their playoff run. They also beat the colts which have "the best quarterback in history", thats lie. I think the biggest thing in 2010 will be the Cavs. LeBron is already too good for everyone and with Shaq down low they can matchup well. Plus they just got Jamison from the Wizards so i think theyll be a lock for the NBA Championship. No one can guard LeBron and if they double or triple he has more threats now. watch out Kobe

The previous year they have strugled for victory due to al three all stars (Gilbert Arenas, Antwan Jamison, and Caron Butler) having some kind of injury thorought the season which led to them not being able to play. Also with a new coaching staff the expected a miracle.
ReplyDeleteThe year begun with the Wizards strugling and the fans were wondering why. Throuhgt the season you would expect some kind of progression, but instead they just continued to lose game after game. The Wizards lost their starting point guard Gilbert Arenas due to gun charges. Since then they also lost Caron Butler, and are also losing there third all star Antwan Jamison. As the team fell apart so did the fans. What was expected to be a year of sucess for the Wizards ended up being a tragedie for the franchise.
The rapper Lil' Wayne, originally from Hollygrove, Louisiana, was by far the hottest thing to walk the earth in 2009. Lil' Wayne reached a climax in his career when he dropped his multi-platinum album The Carter III in the summer of 2008. With over 1.5 million units sold in the first week it was released, it's safe to say it was one of the most anticipated albums of all time. That was 2008, but now in 2009 copies of The Carter III are still being sold/downloaded and about 2.88 million units have been purchased, and Wayne's popularity continues to increase as he appeared on numerous mixtapes and featured on countless #1 hit's. Lil' Wayne will go down as one of the best hip-hop artists of his generation, and possibly of all time. 2009 was all about Lil' Wayne.
ReplyDeleteIn 2010, New Orleans Saints, Superbowl 44, merchandise is going to increase! Many followers of football are going to "hop on the bandwagon" and begin to claim themselves as New Orleans Saints Fans. I believe this is true for any superbowl winners, and this year belongs to the Saints.
I think that major product that was "hot" in 2009 was the iphone. I selected the iphone because it has so many features that come with it, and you can have numerous apps, pictures, and songs. I think that the iphone is so popular because people enjoy having access to the internet, and apps that you can order food with ahead of time, or play games. Also, it is not only a phone but it's an ipod so instead of having to have a phone and an ipod you have two in one. A great thing about the iphone is that it has everything you could possibly think of, and is a great way to find something fast and easily. Like, the weather, football game score, events, and maps to where something is located.

In 2010 there's going to be a new season so I think people are going to be really into watching that. A lot of people like it because all of the drama and peoples lives are interesting to them because it gives them something to talk about to their friends. Jersey Shore's characters also really attract others to them because of their actions and personalities. Jersey Shore will defintely be the hottest show of 2010 because everyone will want to watch it for the second time since it was so entertaining in 2009.

I think that the person who had the biggest impact in the entertainment industry in 2009 was Michael Jackson. He was already a world-wide icon, however his unfortunate death had people starting to really appreciate his gift within the industry. As proof of how much of a success he was in the industry, his services following his death were humungous. His service was shown to the public on tv and tickets were available. Thousands attended the event and even more watched on tv. Shortly before his death, Michael had planned on doing a farewell tour called the "This is it" tour. However, the director and Michael's family decided to make the practices from the tour into a documentary. Michael Jackson was a very widely, well known artist in the entertainment industry, but his fame took to knew heights following his death.

Even though for the past two years they have already had some success in the NHL, I think that 2010 they will finally win the Championship. If they keep going the way that they have been they should be able to accomplish this. The team is very good because there are playes like Alex Ovechkin. If the team just keeps working hard I think they can beat some of the hardest teams. And, they can have the cup instead of just being number one in the NHL for the regular season.

I think the lakers were the hottest team in 2009 they were the NBA champs and had the best player in the game kobe bryant and he had other good players such as Trevor Ariza, Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Derek fisher.And Kobe Bryant was hungry for that ring and he got it. It was his 4th ring as an LA laker he had 3 of them with shaq. And after shaq got traded everyone that the lakers would be done but kobe bryant wanted to show everyone that he could get a ring without shaq. So all that extra work he put in the gym paid off being the first one into practice and the last one out.And they will be the NBA champs this year again even though they traded a key player trevor ariza after having some clutch plays in the NBA playoffs. But they picked up another good player ron artest, and they even have another lakers stepping up such as shannon brown.

I picked this product because I feel that Twilight was a big hit in the United States with people reading the books, and going to attend the movies. For an example, When the 1st Twilight Movie came out there were about 1-million people waiting in line at movie theather's all over the world until mid-night to see the movie. That shows how big this product really meant to other citizens. I think it's popular because they have gear now at places like Nordstroms to buy apparel and music.

You can also buy this product at stores, if you were interested in listening to it. I feel this way because hundreds of people rate the song everyday on whether they like it or not. I in fact love the song Hard by Rihanna.

In 2009, The Los Angeles Lakers were the hottest team. Their record was 65 and 17. They were the best in the Pacific Division and number one overall in the NBA. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers to the Playoffs and to the Nba Finals. They beat the Orlando Magic and got the championship.

In 2009 I believe the hottest T.V show aired on BET was "The Game". The show was in its 5th season, about to start its 6th when viewers were shockingly informed the show was going to be cancelled. There were numerous rumors to report that it would start again in February of 2010 but these all turned out to be false. The show was very popular among the black community and was just begininng to spread diversly. I chose this because I truly believe the show should air again, it was very inspiring and dealt with real life situations. It will be missed greatly.

Lady ga ga is said to be a threat to beyonce because of her singing and dancing talents as well as the long time star Beyonce. Lady ga ga has had four number one hit singles in one year which hasn't been done since the times of the Jackson 5 with "The love you save" "I'll be there" "ABC's" and "I want you back". Beyonce is now taking a 6 month music career break, so this is a good time for Lady ga ga to come out on top without any threats or anything to really compete with.
Lil Wayne is a rapper who had a "hot" year in 2009. Coming off the success of his sixth studio album Tha Carter III in 2008, which sold a million copies in its first week and had the number one single "Lollipop", Wayne was primed for a big 2009. When his 10th mixtape "No Ceilings" was released in October 2009, it almost immediately took over the rap world. Although the mmixtape was released via multiple internet websites and didn't make much money, it certainly helped Wayne's career. Lil Wayne goes to jail on March 2nd 2010 on gun related charges, so he won't have a big 2010.

The Jets have had futility in recent years, and have struggled to make the playoffs. New acquisitions for the 2009-2010 season, such as new quarterbacks, running backs, wideouts, and coaches, led the Jets to a suprisingly strong defense and an improbable playoff run. The Jets reached the AFC championship, losing a competitive game to the Indianapolis Colts. Next year, however, the Jets will have developed their younger players and could even reach the Superbowl.

In 2009 adidas came up with the predator powerswerve. I was impressed because of the light feel of the shoe. It felt as if it gave an extra push into your touch. Adidas predator keeps its looks and and adds new features. The power pulse at the bottom of the shoe that puts weight into your shot.
ReplyDeleteI'm really into music and so is everybody else. Probably the top entertainment there is. I like the aftermarket headunits, speakers, and subs. Every year Alpine, pioneer, etc are coming up with great aftermarket stuff. They have features like ipod ready, cd, and usb slot as an addition to your headunit. Hopefully i will see new features like gps like the lcd screens on a headunit and more power to support my speakers.
