Craftsman Brand to Produce Officially Licensed Major League Baseball Tools, Storage Units and Lawn and Garden Equipment

NEW YORK, April 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --The Craftsman brand announced today that Major League Baseball Properties has added Craftsman to an already formidable lineup of companies providing Officially Licensed Products. The four-year deal allows Craftsman to feature the logos of Major League Baseball and its 30 Clubs on products including hand tools, power tools, tool storage and lawn and garden tools and equipment.

  1. I think this new licensing deal is a great idea for craftsman. I think it will do wonders for their conmpany interms of publicity. Major League Baseball is already a very proven thriving organization and so is Craftsman. So obviously if the two are intertwined they should work wonders. This provides for a reliable source for the league as well as a sparked interest in their tools

    EA Sports has a licensing deal with the NFL. This enables for the promoting of the league on a game platform. This is a great tool to attract many fans. Fans want to feel like they are apart of the action and gaming gives them that hope. EA is a very established corporation which is great for the advancement of the league

Craftsman is a product that has been around for a while and i think that it would be a great benifit for MLB to sign with them in this new deal for thier parts. it will benifit both industries in terms of service and promotion. MLB has also signed with the Oakley glasses company. when you go to thier website you can customize your own glasses to match your favorite MLB team.

    another Licensing agreement is the deal between nascar and its drivers. Nascar sponsors a a driver and depending on how much that sponsor donates or contracts with the driver and his team they can have the car entirely based upon that drivers car. these are sponsors with nascars drivers not nascar its self. Coca-cola would be a licensing agreemnent between the stadiums team(s) and their distributin with them in stead of pepsi.

  3. Craftsman is a very trusted and reliable tool corporation. Major League Baseball is 162 gruling games, where men come in and out to watch the games. So when they turn on the T.V. and see the advertisement and agreement that Major League Baseball has made with Craftsman it will be a great thing. This Licensing agreement is wonderful and will do wonders for both business's.

    In the NBA, Reebok has a licensing agreement with the league to make all the jerseys for the teams. This is a huge benefit for Reebok in keeping up with the battle tested Nike. This licensing agreement helps both the league and the corporation, because of the reliability in Reebok. Therefore licensing agreements play a major role in the sports and entertainment world today.

  4. One benefit of the licensing deal for Craftsman and Major League Baseball are the companies that are providing Officially Licensed Products. Products lead to addition sales for the MLB. Within the deal made, logos are featured as well as 30 Clubs on products such as tools and tool storage and equipment. With the innovative idea of collaborating the MLB and Craftsman, the target market of consumers are more likely to expand. If they weren’t an original buyer of Craftsman, MLB fans will soon become one due to the licensing agreement.

    Licensing in sports and entertainment is not only creating a difference or addition to a product line but to other businesses and services. There may be a new restaurant open due to the success of a popular film. In sports, there are many sports bars and restaurants that are solely based on the NHL, MLB, NFL, NBA, etc…
    One licensing agreement that I am familiar with is one that was held with Mattel and Disney. The two join to collaborate and create products such as dolls of Disney characters that attract the attentions and wants of younger children. Mattel originally specialized with dolls such as Barbie, but now there is a wider variety of dolls with characters from a popular Disney show or movie.

  5. The most significant benefit for Craftsman is that their sells will increase because of loyal Major League Baseball fans. The company will also gain popularity unlike other companies who are not licensed with big organization like the major league baseball. Major League baseball will not gain much from the deal that’s because they will only be entitled to the revenue paid by Craftsman for the license deal. Generally, it’s a great step for the two companies to work together with completely different goals.

    The licensing agreement I am firmly aware of was the University of Wisconsin-Madison with Nike Inc. The deal was faring well until mid-April, 2010 when the University officially canceled the agreement. The cause of the situation had to do with Nike exploiting its workers in foreign countries like Honduras, China and Indonesia. It was a great deal for Nike Inc.

  6. I think that after reading this article,the new licensing deal between the MLB and Craftman is great for both parties. For Craftsman I think it will skyrocket for their conmpany in publicity and in sales. The MLB is already a well established and sucessful organization and so is Craftsman. So in combining the two should be magical, I mean is the pros are doing it who wouldnt? This deal provides an trustworthy and reliable set of tools, that will help teams benefit keep up with stadiums and yard work.

    For example Papa John's has a licensing deal with the NFL. This helps for the promoting of the league and that specific company. It is a great idea, to have all the promotions to beneifit both sides of the spectrum. People can get toppings free baised off of how the Redskins do in a game (just and example) which encourages people to root for that team. Papa John's is a very sucessful organization which is great for the specific teams, and the NFL, to have its logo on such a trusted product.

  7. Craftsmans new idea for licensing deal is a great way for them to make money. I feel that this would help companies out alot. The plublicity will increase great amounts. The MLB has shown that theyre a great company to work with when it comes to licensing. For Craftsman they get to have there company name go alone with the MLB as one. And as much baseball as there is many people will see the Craftsman company name.

    Reebok has a deal with the NFL. This deal helps promote the Reebok Jerseys. Reebok makes All the Jerseys for the NFL teams.Fans that want to feel as they are in the game then they can buy the on field jerseys. The NFL helps to get the Reebok jerseys out there and make them wanted by more then before.

  8. In my opinion, this is a great deal for these two. Major League Baseball will be able to increase the number and type of people they market too. With the help of Craftsman, they can market to people who do construction. This will increase the profit and revenue.

    Adidas has a licensing deal with the NBA. All of the jerseys and warmups are made by adidas. This mixes the field with other athletic sponsors like nike and reebok. Now, there is a variety of companies throughout the league.

  9. The licensing deal for craftsman is awesome. They officially get to become a sponsor for the MLB. Some of the benfits for CraftsMan is to see their logo get recognised from all the products the MLB will be putting out in the market. CraftsMan made the most trusted tool in 2008 and I believe it will be the same for this year since afterall they are with the MLB.
    EA sports has a licensing deal with MLS. This promotes the leaque to be taken place on a gaming platform. It attracts many fans and puts them right in the game as if they were playing in the MLS. This is a great path for the MLS as it would attract many fans to play the game.

  10. I think that this new licensing deal is a great idea. I think that it is a good way for Craftsman to get publicity. however, i do not see this deal helping to sell any more tickets or appliances then are already sold. I think that if someone wants to buy a hammer than they will buy a craftsman, not because they are affiliated with the MLB, but because craftsman is the best and everyone already knows that.

    EA Games has a licensing deal with almost every sports league. this is benifitial to each of the organizations because EA Games is a very well known gaming organization and they will sell many more video games with EA Games then with anyone else. it is benifitial to EA Games because there are millions of sports fans who want to buy sports games, and if EA Games has exclusive deals with all of these leagues then they will have all of these fans come to them to buy the games.
