Getting in the public eye is what buisness is all about. Big markets call for big buisnesses which is how money is made. Papa Johns is a a company that is always in the eye of the public. March Madness would be a great platform to promote the product. The only problem with that is being in the public eye too much. This causes for the public to treat it as spam and it just becomes annoying.
ReplyDeleteMarketing is all about getting in the public eye and it who ever does the best job with that is who will thrive. The Little guy in buisness mean exactly that. It has no chance to stick with the big competitor in the market. Of course their will be some sort of sparked interest. But even with that there is definatley not enough to compete with the already established papa johns.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely it is most important that restaurants and business's use major events as a promo deal. Its like the commercials during the super bowl, its prime time. Everyone and their mother is watching the NCAA tournament so getting your restaurant and/or business name out there by way of advertisement attached to the NCAA tournament is huge. There is no drawbacks, plenty of business's over use paper and television to get their name out there, but i have never heard of someone saying,"I am not buying from that place because I have seen their Ad's to much." Publicity and being relavent to the times is a huge marketing aspect.
ReplyDeleteNow just as the NCAA tournament is very competitive, so is the business world during this time. Its like picking Northern Iowa to beat Kansas, why would you pick a small business over a big business? Well that's when the marketing and promotions have to come into affect. People love quality deals, and no matter how big or small your business is, people will always pay for a quality deal. My opinion is for a business's to make their push during this event and profit off the unlimited revenue that could pour in.

i think it is actually really smart for a resturant to use march maddness to help boost sales. i work in a resturant and actually the sales have signaficatly increased due to the Kentucky fans that we support. on a regular week we sell 45,000 dollars worth of food and drinks in that time. becuase of March Madness, we sold 30,000 in the first two games that kentucky won in. we use these games to our advantage and use them well. we raised enough money to buy heaters for our patio meaning that it will be open year long now for dinning and drinking. i don't think that there are ay draw backs for them other than overp romoting it.
ReplyDeletethe little guy always has a chance at beating the favored team in winning new customers... we have a papa john's right next door to us and they didn't have as many cars working during march madness as they do on a weekend. so that right there tells you something like that we were winning the new customers and that they were losing custoomers. promotion and product are the most important thing to me in the five p's of marketing. we have a great product and we we are still having a 10% discount on your meal coupon in the mail. so i think our sales speak for themselves.
I feel that it is very smart for a big business to capitalize on a major sporting event. This is becuase it will help to get new people to eat or shop at there place. The bigger the event the more thers is to capitalize on. An event as big as march madness that so many people watch it would help the business make more money to pay the prize to get there name on the event. The event may be a huge one like march madness but it is worth it to have ur product or business's name on the event.
ReplyDeleteI feel that "The Little guy" has a better shot at making more money then the " Big guy". This is becuase a smaller business having there name on an event will help get there name out there. The more poeple see a business's name the more then thing about trying the business out. the little guy will win over just as many if not more people. this i sbecause it is a new business and it will be tried out.

This article gave a lot of information and in my opinion, was very good. It is very smartfor a company to try and capitalize on an event like march madness. It is by far one of the biggest events of the year and guarantees a multitude of fans. As for Papa John's, a dont think you can promote too much. Every little bit they do will only help the company.
ReplyDeleteInregards to the "little guy", they have been smart by taking advantage of this event. Because of the amount of fans that come to the games, this will result in great exposure. Because of his fact, this gives them a chance in competing with Pap John's. Marketing strategies the smaller companies can use could include putting ads on the scoreboards, sending airgrams, etc. If they do all these things, thy will do well in this market.

I think March madness is a great platform to promote a buisness in the market. there will be millions of viewers watching the game so it is great publicity. Another great thing about this market is that it affects all parts of the country. Papa Johns is already established buisness that would Benefit greatly from this publicty. As long as they Dont Over do it with the advertising they will be fine.
ReplyDeletei think the small guys will do well but they will be no were near the big guys . the big guys have so much more to gve because of the name that they carry in the little guys are just puhhhh.bwellnthats how i fell
The idea of capitalizing on a major event like March Madness is great and will bring in a lot of revenue to the company at that particular time. It is important because such events may be carried out at that place once a decade, so it necessary to use all strategies to acquire as much money as possible. In my perspective, Papa Johns will not have any disadvantage or suffer looses for advertising their products so much. Instead they will be acknowledged by many customers since they do a lot of advertising and offer great promotions.
ReplyDeleteBig businesses will gain many new customers than the small business. This is because the big companies have a lot of money and advertise at a national range unlike the small one who use advertises locally. Advertising is an important thing in a business. Event like March Madness will host fans from all over America and in most cases people buy what they know and have experienced. Papa Johns being a National based business will significantly out do the small companies like Glier’s Goetta.
I think it is a smart idea for a restaurant to try to capitalize on a major sporting event like March Madness. It helps food sales bought by speculators of the game which help profit March Madness. Boosting sales is a positive thing for the event especially in a market that everyone enjoys; food. There will be some potential drawbacks for company’s like Papa Johns because it is well known and giving so many deals will set sales back. There should be some sort of time frame where the deal ends so that it won’t hurt the company so much.
ReplyDeleteThe little guy restaurant will not suffer as much of a loss as the big guy restaurants because they are mostly only local. If they are not in the area then the customer will not be able to have easy access to the restaurant to give them their services. The smaller restaurant chains do have chances and opportunities to win over new customers because they are giving out specials that influence the customer as well as new customers to buy. Marketing strategies to win over new customers would be giving membership to the customer to be a part of their business or giving away incentives, such as specials on food and sending coupons to them. Making good advertisements are also effective when trying to win over new customers that are not aware of their local restaurants.

During the March Madness event all restauraunts are boosting up their sales especially pizza restaurants. It is smart to capitalize on big events such as the NCAA tournament which brings more money because of the demand. It also depends which team are playing against who which also affects how many pizzas will sell for the company. No there aren't any potiential drawbacks for Papa Johns because of how well Papa John is very well known for. When Papa Johns is promoting special offers that brings more customers in your business.
ReplyDeleteMarketing especially in big events such as the NCAA is a perfect oppurtunity to advertise to get your company well known. The little guy going up against Papa Johns which is a big restaurant will be very hard to win over. Obviously Papa Johns will win because of how customers recognise them as a big company. It all comes down to the promotions they are having and also the customers.
I think that it is very smart for companies to try to capitalize on major sporting events like the March Madness games. I think it is a great way to make money because many people watch the games and most of them are watching the games with friends, and they will want to order pizza. So big companies such as Papa John's should take advantages of this because it is a great opportunity to make money. The only draw back to sending out so much promotional adds is that people can become anoyed that they are getting so many adds and this is not good for the company's public image.
ReplyDeleteSmaller restaraunts do have a chance to win new customers because if it is a bar or a restaraunt that shows the game people might go to the restaraunt just to watch the game and drink a beer with their friends. the smaller restaraunts dont have a chance to get as much business as a company such as Papa John's because Papa John's is such a well know company people trust that the pizzas from them will be good. Also many smaller companies do not deliver and when you are watching the game you dont want to go out and get a pizza, so the businesses that deliver will make more money.
The article was good. I think that it is smart for restaurants to capitlize on a major sporting event such as March Madness because March Madness is a real big thing. March Madness is a big event because their are a lot of college teams in the tournaments (NCAA & NIT). People like to watch things comfortably. This means that their are a lot of fans watching the games either at the game, at home, or at restaurants. Restaurantas will make a lot of money during March Madness because a lot of fans that are into sports or even went to the school that is playing on TV are into March Madness. A lot of people go to restaurants to enjoy themselves and to watch the games with a lot of other fans while they eat because it is very entertaining. To me i dont think their would be a potential downback for a compny like Papa Johns because their are fans who like to eat pizza while they watch the games at home or even invite friends over to watch the games with them. When your at home with friends watching entertaining games i think most people would rather order pizza, especially if its Papa Johns.
ReplyDeleteTo me i think Pap Johns will win over the small business beacuse Papa Johns is very popular and is having a good offer. The Papa Johns offer is more cheaper than the other pizza places. Papa Johns tastes very good which means the people that have had Papa Johns are going to keep buying what they been eating. Papa Johns is the sponsor of March Madness so ithink the small business will have no chance with competing with Papa Johns.

I think it is imparitive for a resturant or company to use march maddness to help boost sales. They can get business a whole lot easier this way compaired to before. Simply because of all of the viewers the game recieves every night. Just like Papa Johns they may give away alot of free stuff, and have alot of promotions. But in the long run they gain alot of money in the long run. It is jus tas important not to do it though, because thats when people tent to get bored with the product.
ReplyDeleteIt is calear when small companies can not keep up/compete with big businesses, but with march madness anything is possible. Although they may not need as much air time as papa johns, they get enought for them. Papa Johns gets more than others becausae teh size of the franchise. With march madenss, it is a good way to get your business out there to many viewers. In some aspects it almost compaires to the super bowl, because of the large fan base. Whatever way you look at it, March MAdenss will get your name out tehre.

In my perspective, Tiger handled the situation appropriately. It was wise for him to stay away from the media immediately after the scandal. It really helped him emotionally and his reputation to the funs. The most important thing that Tiger did is being truthful with the all thing. He took responsibility for his mistakes and asked for forgiveness unlike other celebrities who deny and later accept. It saved his career tremendously. Tiger Woods agent really made a wise choice. Tiger being friendly to the fans will also help him be comfortable in the game when he returns.
ReplyDeleteAthletes should maintain a good image all the time for them to make millions and succeed in their careers. Many athletes don’t make much money in the field and they rely mostly on endorsement and deals with companies. These big companies choose athletes that depict a good image to the fans. Sponsors also withdraw contracts whenever an athlete image is tampered with. Maintaining a good image is an important factor to the success of an athlete.
